Bruce Tate

North East born Bruce Tate founded Need Music Ltd in 2012 after 10 years of recording and touring as a musician.

After having considerable success with the rock band Jetson (BBC Radio 1 Airplay and 2 UK tours), and completing his degree in Business Studies at the University of Central Lancashire, Bruce cofounded the electro band Viva City, who went on to tour the USA 5 times. This included showcase gigs at the SXSW music conferences in Texas and The Viper Rooms in LA, California. Viva City signed a recording contract which brought about the release of debut album ‘Phobia’.

Bruce left the band in March 2012 to pursue a new career as an events co-ordinator and music promoter. He set up Need Music Ltd - a live music agency which has grown quickly over the past 6 years and are now one of the leading suppliers of live music here in the North East. In 2018 Need Music Studios will be opened in the city centre to help up and coming artists record their music.

Jetson

From 1999-2004 Bruce was the bassist of Newcastle rock band Jetson.

Jetson are a gloriously rowdy speedball made from traces of Ash, Blur, Elastica and early sneering Manics, right down to the spray-on sloganeering and legs thrown apart from the sheer weight of their own enthusiasm. (The Fly)

Viva City

From 2007-2012 Bruce was the bassist & keyboard player in electro band Viva City.

Check out the video for Viva City's collaboration with Dutch DJ Don Diablo. Released in Netherlands, UK & USA.
The band played some big gigs, including support slots with Ed Sheeran, Maximo Park, Shed Seven, The Bluetones, Kosheen and The Automatic to name a few.
